IQ is not recognizing the symbol the first time I subscribe to it. returns n record. if I send the subscription again, then it returns the batch of Z records. Then no further updates unless re-send the subscription request. For example:

Just make it a system symbol that you subscribe to, then send the update whenever the number of symbols being tracked changes, regardless of which application causes the change

if running on the host computer and in VMWare, it is the same as running IQFeed on 2 different computers since an instance of VMWare is the same as a separate computer for all licensing purposes.
