Scheduled March 9th we will release a new EOD/5 min file process that will fill in all Market Center fields (Traded MarketCenter, Bid Market Center, Ask Market Center) with the same numeric codes used for the listed market. Bid and Ask Market Centers have been using these codes for some time, now the Traded Market Center (field 6, 1 based) will be included in this processing.

This means these fields will be a variable length, from 1 to 3 digits. The single, lowercase character codes for Traded Market Center will no longer be used. Some users had problems with this change when it was inadvertently released in December of 2011. Please update your processing to accommodate the change to Traded Market Center.

We are implementing this change to provide better coverage of Market Centers, the single lowercase characters were limited in the number of exchanges they could identify. This will also provide a single reference for exchanges.

Just a follow-up: This change, to variable length (1-3) numeric market centers for Bid, Ask, and Traded Markets is still scheduled for this coming weekend, March 9th.

Please ensure your processing will accommodate the number representation of the market in the market center fields.
