Ok, thanks for checking on that. Could you send me an email to developer support with your login information? I'd like to try it with your account.

Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » How much historical data is available? Jul 24, 2006 11:07 AM (Total replies: 5)

The one year limitation is a result of archiving off older data to preserve space on the system.

As far as the LC# contract, server team is aware of it and working on a fix.

Thanks!

Are you able to receive new via the example apps? The C++ News Socket might be a good one to try. Please let me know whether or not it works for you, and I'll continue to look at reasons why you might be having this issue.

Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » IQConnect connection issues Mar 24, 2006 10:04 AM (Total replies: 14)

Dennis,

I appreciate your comments. Here is the status of the bugs:

I am working out a few details with bug #1 ( RegisterClientApp() doesn't return if a connection with the servers cannot be established eg. Internet down. ) We are planning to send a release candidate to QA in a week or two, and I will do my best to include the fix in that release.

The work on bug #2 is still in progress, and I do not know if we will have a fix in the next release.

Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » IQConnect connection issues Mar 23, 2006 03:43 PM (Total replies: 14)

Dennis,

I don't think that we ever came up with a fix for either of the bugs you mentioned. The last email I have from you stated that the fix I gave you was working like this:

At the moment, when the Internet is unavailable the IQFeed client returns with an INVALID state (a=0 b=1) . When this occurs we execute RemoveClientApp() but the IQFeed window remains open. We then execute RegisterClientApp() to make a second attempt and our JVM crashes.

IQFeed Developer Support » IQConnect crash Jan 18, 2006 05:54 PM (Total replies: 6)

There are some issues with the formatting of this story. While IQFeed wouldn't have been able to display it anyway, we will add some additional error checking to IQConnect so it won't crash in the future. Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » New to dtniq... Dec 28, 2005 10:52 AM (Total replies: 3)

Hello Bob,

First, I want to clarify that the DTNIQ and IQFeed are two distinct products. While you can have both products installed, you will actually be developing to IQFeed's components, not DTNIQ's.

Quote: I plan on writing a java app that will connect to the Iqconnect.exe using tcp/ip is that doable?

Yes, you can write to the IQFeed API using java and tcp/ip.

Quote: I dont see a need for any api if I do it this way. Is that correct?

I'm not sure what you are asking here. If you write to IQFeed, you are using the API.

Quote: I will need to know the protocol for talking with the iqconnect.exe that is running on my machine, where will I get access to that information?

When you sign up for the API, you will gain access to the API documentation.

Quote: Is there a java api? Can anyone point me somewhere I can read about it?

Yes, java is supported in the IQFeed API. When you sign up for the API, you will gain access to the API documentation.

I hope this information helps. Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » Historical Open Interest Dec 22, 2005 09:41 AM (Total replies: 5)

skunk is correct, historical open interest for futures is available in IQFeed v4.1.0.0, which is currently in BETA. That info is in the release notes, and will be updated in the online documentation when the release goes LIVE. Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » Market Hours For Selected Security Dec 15, 2005 12:11 PM (Total replies: 22)

Here are some answers to items posted in this thread:

We can, if warranted, add the market hours to the fundamental message. This information is already available on our servers for commodities, but is not in IQFeed.

The summary message should NEVER be used to create a new data point for the user. Data points are generated from updates, not summaries. We do not combine a current update in with a summary.

The Market Open field is only valid for Futures and Future Options. We will look into whether or not this is functioning properly.

If you are running with a 3rd party software package, you may want to check with them. They might be setting this automatically in their own software. Thanks!

IQFeed Developer Support » IQConnect connection issues Nov 28, 2005 10:22 AM (Total replies: 14)

dhakme,

I have fixed the issue where IQFeed does not respond to RemoveClientApp. I am packaging a release, and should have it to QA this week.

In an effort to this get out, I am going to postpone the fix where the Connect button will actually try to reconnect. Thanks!

The IQLink Stats dialog is not automatically updated. You need to double-click on the DDE icon in order to update the dialog. Try that, and let me know if the symbols are cleared...I suspect that they will be.

I can note your request as an enhancement, and we will look at it for some future release. Thanks!
