Is the tick history down?

I am not getting tick data for any symbols.
The feed returns "..Error: History data currently unavailable".

Daily history is working fine though.

Are you still experiencing problems or just this late at night?

I had this kind of problem before.

You may try to type the symbol in capital charactors for history data.

It solved my problem after I tried that.

The problem persisted next day too. Then I started getting the historical tick data on Jan 17th.
No changes in my software were done. The problem went away suddenly just like it appeared.
Did anybody else experience the issue over the past weekend?

To js2004:
Yes, I remember seing a discussion about it in this forum. However, it was not the reason: the symbols are always entered in the uppercase.
Thank you for the suggestion though.

We do maintenance on our system over he weekend but typically that doesn't cause any significant outages.
Were you requesting more than 1 day's history? On Saturday you will need to request tick history for at least two days, the history operates on claendar days not market days.

The tick history is not working again no matter if I am requesting a single day or several days of data.
It is Thursday, 2005-01-28 01:51 (Iqfeed time)

The EOD history is working though.

When you say it isn't working... What isn't working? Please provide details such as did you try using the sample apps within IQFeed, is this your own app, what symbols, what intervals, what errors or results did you get, etc.

We have seen no other reports of issues overnight, and I was running until about 11:30pm without issues.

I am using my own program and it normally downloads data on daily basis just fine.
The commands for which I could not get a response were:
HT,DISK,1;
HT,ISSX,1;
HT,NT,1;

Every time I tried to write any of these strings to the socket (one at a time, of course), I was getting the following response:
"..Error: History data currently unavailable".

These commands worked during the day yesterday and they are working today, but I had a problem last night for about an hour until I gave up. Socket buffer overflow and the like are not to blame, since I also tried re-logins, computer restarts, longer delays, etc.

I did not try running a sample application though, and it would be a good thing to do next time I encounter this problem.
But, anyway, doesn't the error message "History data currently unavailable" indicate the data feed for ticks was down? Is it the iqfeed client who generates this message, or it is coming from the data server?

If you are asking for 1 day of intraday data shortly after midnight (your post was early morning), there won't be any data for that day. Thus, if it is early morning/after midnight, you will need to ask for ticks/bars for the previous day as well. Could this be the issue? If not, lets go down the road to test with the sample app to see if you are getting the same thing.

The message you are seeing, while I am not sure if that is a server or client message, sounds like the try completely successfully, but there wasn't any data. Doesn't appear to be a server error or client error.
