How do I adjust logging levels in the feed (to assist in debugging, etc)?
I'm writing in Java, so, I presume this would be something I send over the socket.
Thanks!

I dont believe there is any API available to change it.
The logging level is set using a registry key.
Search for "IQConnect logging" in the API docs Edited by skunk on Jan 31, 2005 at 03:39 PM

You need to change the "LogLevel" registry setting. Valid values start at zero for no logging, and go up to 4 for the most logging. You can find it in HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/DTN/IQFeed/Startup.

I'm wondering if this works. I appear to get a log file with setting 1 but nothing at a setting of 4.

I checked this functionality wit the BETA release, and there is a bug. The log will work with a setting of 1 only. I'll look into this. Thanks for finding this!

The logging level in the beta is consistent with the release notes: From the IQFeed Release Notes for v2.3.0.3 for logging: Quote: For logging, IQ32.LOG and IQLOG.TXT have been replaced with IQConnectLog.txt. The registry settings that control logging are LogPath and LogLevel, which can be found in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DTN \IQFeed\Startup. Use LogPath to set the path to the log file, and use LogLevel (zero for off and one for on) to turn logging on or off. This is how the new log works - with the exception that it does not log the closing of the program. I've re-written my program to use this simplification. I find this better than before due to the maturity of the feed. It should only be used for debugging and not for routine operation. David IQXP Software http://www.iqxp.com

David,
You are correct that the logging is consistent with the release notes. The problem is that I had told some customers that the "old" log levels would still work.
You are also correct that there is not any logging during the close of the program. This will be added shortly.
Thanks!
