Hello,

I subscribe to IQFeed and use Ensign for charting. Every day, I receive a bad tick on CSCO that makes my charts completely unreadable. As mentioned this happens every day, always with the high, and always in the afternoon. I have spent a considerable amount of time back and forth with the developers of Ensign on this problem. What's been determined from this exchange is that DTN stores a bad tick on their servers. Whenever I correct and refresh my charts after making the necessary adjustment, the erroneous bar returns corrupting my charts once again. Could you please look into this? I'd greatly apprecaite it.

Regards,

Ron Hughes.

Ron,

Are you seeing this on daily bars, tick data, or minute data (or all)? Since it happens when you refresh from the server, it does sound like a bad tick on our server, however I am not seeing anything in our client. Can you provide the interval and time you see the bad tick (as well as the values that are incorrect) so we can locate and fix it?

Hello Jay,

Thank you for responding. The bad tick always occurs on the Daily bars. The values for today's bad tick are Open: 18.000 High: 10366.170 Low: 17.940 Volume: 96,447,06

It appears to me as though CSCO data is somehow getting mixed with Dow data. Hopefully, this problem can be corrected.

Ron,

Unfortunately, we aren't showing that datapoint in our server. Here is the last few datapoints we have for daily data for CSCO and we don't see any erroneous points in there. However, if it always happens on the current day's bar, that may indicate a client software issue since we don't provide the current day in our daily bars (the client adds that by pulling it from streaming data):

Date Open High Low Close Volume
4/13/2005 18.21 18.29 17.97 18 44954568
4/12/2005 17.92 18.3 17.85 18.24 86867513
4/11/2005 18 18.1003 17.93 17.99 42963751
4/8/2005 18.08 18.15 17.9 17.9 45437409
4/7/2005 17.8 18.17 17.78 18.15 51185761
4/6/2005 17.82 18 17.74 17.77 40168328
4/5/2005 17.74 17.91 17.52 17.82 50200550
4/4/2005 17.66 17.75 17.5 17.67 51982646
4/1/2005 18.01 18.0704 17.69 17.7 56536578

I will forward this to ensign as well to see if we can figure out where the issue may be and get it corrected.
