Hello,

I have been running fine for the last two years. My last good release was “iqfeed_developer_2_3_0_2.exe”. We went for almost a year without any updates and then they started up again a few months ago. I cannot use any of the new updates. I keep trying them but I have a major problems.

My most important program is a Watch program that updates a database with tic data for 1280 watch symbols. This program is a pure socket implementation. The only IQ library I use for this program is IQFeedX.dll, and this used only to do RegisterClientApp, if IQConnect.exe is not running. Under the .02 release my system is very stable and I can easily process 1280 watch symbols. I am running on a high-end dual processor server and I estimate that I am only using about 15% of my throughput. In addition to my Watch program I do extensive database queries and I have never lost data when the server is under extreme loading.

Under the new .08 release I silently lose data. I have had to reinstall the .02 Client version of IQConnet.exe to get back to being able to process 1280 symbols.

The IQFeedX.dll is missing from the latest releases. I cannot use IQFeedY.ocx because my Watch program is implemented as a Windows Service, and as such it doesn’t have a GUI. A Windows Service cannot link to an Active X Control.

I am also very discouraged by the lack of progress in moving to Visual Studio 2003. I gave up Visual Studio 6 many years ago. Visual Studio 2005 is about to come out and I feel that DTN is light-years behind Microsoft’s technology curve. The Java support is also very discouraging. The Java example no longer runs on my dual processor machine using the new releases.

Hi Charles.

I have not had reports on data loss in IQFeed v2.3.0.8. If you can give me a list of steps to reproduce the issue, I will look into it.

IQFeedX.dll has been unsupported since v2.3.0.1, as noted in the online documentation. The fact that it was removed from the install was noted in the release notes for IQFeed v2.3.0.3. We are unable to hold up this release to reimplement IQFeedY.dll functionality, but will look at it for future releases.

We do plan to move to .NET, but have not gotten to that yet. If you can give me steps to reproduce the issues you are having with JAVA, I can look into them. You may either post issues to this forum, or send details to the seveloper support email address. Thanks!

You refer to IQFeedY as a .dll instead of .ocx. What you install with your new releases is IQFeedY.ocx. A file with a .ocx extension is an ActiveX Control. It is not a Dynamic Link Library. An ActiveX control is not of any value to me.

Hi Charles,

I do understand what a .ocx extension means. That was a mispelling...I meant IQFeedX.dll (not IQFeedY.dll).

I was trying to get across that IQFeedX.dll has been unsupported for some time, and since we are so late in the game with this release, we wil not change IQFeedY.ocx to a dll. Nor will we bring back IQFeedX.dll. So, your issue won't be resolved when the current BETA goes live. We will look at doing something for you in future versions. Thanks!
