sasha -Interested User- Posts: 54 Joined: Jul 21, 2004	Posted: Jul 21, 2004 11:52 AM Msg. 1 of 3 Reading through the feaures of both and can only notice the main differences seem to be )apart from cost): DTN.IQ - Max 1300 symbols - Client tools/apps IQFeed - Max 500 symbols 1. Is this correct? 2. Are there and differences between the API and/or data? 3. How come some DTN/IQFeed 3rd party software vendor claim unlimited symbols (e.g. TRAX)? Thankyou.
msearles -Interested User- Posts: 16 Joined: May 12, 2004 Software for DTN RealTime Satellite	Posted: Jul 22, 2004 12:47 AM Msg. 2 of 3 I can't answer the first 2 questions, but as far as TRAX is concerned... TRAX works with the DTN RealTime satellite feed not IQFeed. The satellite feed is a broadcast feed -- all symbols are broadcast -- and the receiver receives data for every symbol. Providing that you have software that can manage the volume of data -- you can monitor every symbol in the market if you wish. For NYSE, NASDAQ and AMEX stocks, that's about 14,500 symbols. Add to that another 136,000 or so if you subscribe to equity and index options. Plus futures.
