andrzejs -Interested User- Posts: 23 Joined: May 27, 2004	Posted: Oct 20, 2004 01:49 PM Msg. 3 of 10 Steve, this problem still exists, and existed yesterday evening too. i have sbc dsl service here in dallas, with a dynamic ip; but the ip is assigned only at connect time, so that should not be an issue.

I'm told we have seen a frequent problem with Dell's using an integrated network card. If this is the card that came with the Dell, then it's probably an integrated network card. Steve: Do you have any further info on the cause of these dropouts? Does the Dell have a known problem or is it just circumstantial evidence? I am using an HP with an Intel PRO/1000 MT. I could switch to the onboard 82540EM port.
