Today I had a series of disconnects from the Level 1 feed, I reconnected successfully but then noticed that the history connection has silently stopped working. Am I to assume that if I have to reconnect to the Level 1 port that I also have to reconnect to the history port? (Despite the fact no connection error is given on the history port).

Update: I didn't notice before, but in my logs I see a E,Could not connect to History Socket.
It would be amazingly helpful if the various errors one could receive on the history socket were documented, instead of having to find these things out via trial and error.

Could you explain in a little more detail, I don't have enough information to help you.

Did you get a S,SERVER DISCONNECTED message?

What where you doing when you got disconnected?

The context is the same as explained in the other thread on the loss of timestamp messages, are you saying I should get a S,SERVER DISCONNECTED on the history connection?

Craig, you won't get the S,SERVER DISCONNECTED message on the history port. I'm not sure what would cause the history to stop working unless it is the same cause of your L1 disconnects. It certainly sounds like you had some network issues either on your end or somewhere between your ISP and our servers.

After taking a look at the other thread, it sounds like there might be something else at work here. I'm going to continue this on that other thread http://forums.dtn.com/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=2871 (for anyone else following along).
