I'd like to know if it is possible to connect to IQFeed without using IQConnect.
I want to use the native Java net classes to make the connection. I'd like to keep
my product platform free. I can use the Java TCP/IP stack classes. I just need
some direction.

Hello Steve, we do not allow this currently. We might offer some sort of direct connect to the servers in the future (primarily targeting mobile development) but that is still quite a ways off.

Until then, although not officially supported, IQFeed does run fine under WINE in linux but I don't know of a Mac solution without simply running parallels or something similar.

We use WINE on Mac OS X and it works well.
