Going through the documenation I can't find what is the sequence of messages. In ohter words, when do you get a FundamentalMessage, SummaryMessage, SystemMessage, etc.

It is would be good to see a flow of when and why you get these messages. I'm also guessing that you get all messages (you can't subscribe to a subset).

I'm looking at 2.3 with .NET, so I will be using AxIQFeedY (unless there is a better method, please advise)

Thanks,

Luis

Hi Luis,

After you call RegisterClientApp() you will receive the following System Messages:
S,KEY,#####
S,SERVER CONNECTED
S,IP,[ip] [port],...
S,CUST,...
S,KEYOK

After you receive the S,SERVER CONNECTED System Message, you may watch symbols.
After you send a watch on a symbol, you will receive a Fundamental Message and a Summary Message for that symbol. Then, you will receive Update Messages.

IQFeed v4.0.0.0 is the latest BETA version, so I would suggest using that one. You can look at the .NET examples to see IQFeedY.ocx in a working example. Those examples were installed with the IQFeed Developer package.

Thanks!
