Revelations In Stillness

Folks,

I am working on Saturday morning -- setting up an Excel spreadsheet with canadian equities and I am concerned that I get zeros or other funny numbers back pretty consistently. Are there some issues I need to be aware of?

Using Cameco corporation, for example, I would expect a value around 2.96 for EPS and 0.26 for Div Amt -- instead I get 0 and 0.65.

Thanks.

Hi Glatiak,

I see the same thing on my IQ Watch List. The EPS is blank & I have 0.070000 for the Div Amt. I will have our fundamental data checked with our provider.

I checked withour internal Market Integrity dept. And our provider for fundamental data only has US stocks. The little bit you are seeing on the Canadian stocks is coming from the exchange. We will check to be sure what we have is correct.

Hi Glatiak,
I have checked what fundamental data we have on C.CCO and the little we have does match the exchange. Sorry we dont have any more.

If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks, Stan.

It would be helpful if there was some info available documenting the limitations of the available fundamental data - i.e. it is pretty much only valid for US securities, for Canada it is probably not valid, i.e. most likely random noise as it goes though the Tandem or Sun boxes at the TSX.

Hi Glatiak,

We don’t get any additional fundamental Canadian data from outside sources like we do with US equities. What we display is what the TSX sends to us. We get dividend information and some limited earnings info. We get it from the exchange so it should be trustworthy. We also provide some fundamental data based on our own history. 52 week high/low , volatility etc.

I hope this helps.
